NORWALK, CT - It’s official—Wegmans is coming to Connecticut. The Planning and Zoning Commission for the city of Norwalk recently announced its approval of the retailer’s application to expand in the state, and excitement is already mounting.

Steve Leaty, Project Manager, Wegmans“What we see is that when Wegmans comes into the market, it’s a win-win for everybody,” Steve Leaty, the Project Manager for Wegmans, said during a July meeting. “Anybody that exists there today has to up their game, their experience needs to be better than Wegmans in order to compete.”

According to Westchester & Fairfield County Business Journals, Leaty stated that the store would have a positive effect in the area even with an already high concentration of grocery stores. The location will stand at 91,000 square feet in addition to a two-story parking garage.
