BrightFarms Looks to Global Produce & Floral Show; Abby Prior Discusses

NEW YORK, NY - Convenience paired with flavor always counts as a win. As BrightFarms gears up to showcase at the Global Produce & Floral Show hosted by International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA), I spoke with Abby Prior about how the company’s product portfolio is a win for buyers.

Abby Prior, Chief Commercial Officer, BrightFarms“We’ll be showcasing our two initial salad kit flavors—Chickpea Caesar and Sunny Bacon—both of which feature our locally grown, fresh Sunny Crunch® lettuce topped with premium, crunchy toppings, offering customers a complete salad experience of fresh, tasty greens in a convenient format,” the Chief Commercial Officer told me.

Chickpea Caesar is a twist on a culinary classic, she noted, and comes with Sunny Crunch greens topped with crispy chickpeas, quinoa, shaved parmesan, garlic crouton crumbles, and paired with a vegan Caesar dressing.

At the inaugural International Fresh Produce Association Global Produce & Floral Show, BrightFarms will showcase its two initial salad kit flavors—Chickpea Caesar and Sunny Bacon—both of which feature its locally grown, fresh Sunny Crunch® lettuce topped with premium, crunchy toppings

On the other hand, Sunny Bacon is a savory salad featuring Sunny Crunch greens topped with uncured bacon bits, shredded white Cheddar cheese, sunflower seeds, crispy onions, herb croutons, and paired with a vegan Ranch dressing.

“The kits are uniquely packaged in BrightFarms’ peel and reseal container so that shoppers can simply add the ingredients, reseal the pack, shake and enjoy,” Abby shared.

With expansion plans underway, the company’s product portfolio isn’t the only thing stirring up buzz.

With greenhouses already in six markets, BrightFarms will be expanding significantly with new greenhouses under construction in new and existing locales

“We’re on a mission to make fresh, tasty, responsibly grown produce available to more people, and now it’s crunch time. After establishing ourselves as the leader in indoor grown leafy greens with greenhouses in six markets, BrightFarms is on its way to even more growth!” Abby noted with enthusiasm. “Over the next couple of years, BrightFarms will be expanding significantly with new greenhouses under construction in new and existing markets. This means more Sunny Crunch and fresh baby greens available for more consumers. In addition to BrightFarms’ expansion plans, we are pleased to formally introduce our Crunch Kit Salads. We launched Crunch Kits earlier this year in response to the desire by consumers for convenient, healthy ways to enjoy a full salad experience at home or on the go.”

This category leader is ready to talk shop, so be sure to stop by booth #4949 to learn how you can benefit from a full portfolio of greenhouse-grown leafy greens.
