GONZALES, CA - For Misionero, 2023 marks a special milestone: its 50th anniversary. Founded in 1973, the company’s history is steeped in a passion for produce, people, and organic practices, which continue to fuel its growth into the future.

Joe Merenda, Chief Executive Officer, Misionero“As we celebrate our 50th year, we recognize the numerous opportunities ahead,” stated Joe Merenda, Chief Executive Officer. “Increased consumer awareness and demand for organic products present a favorable market environment. We capitalize on these opportunities by partnering with retailers, exploring collaborations with like-minded organizations, and continuously striving to understand and meet the evolving needs of our consumers. Through market research and innovative product development initiatives, we provide diverse options that resonate with our target audience, enhancing the customer experience and solidifying our position as a leader in the organic industry.”

Misionero was created by Floyd Griffin and had humble beginnings, a release explained. He envisioned that the company would achieve success while treating its employees with respect, being mindful of the balance between growth and maintaining quality. When the Harbinger Group acquired Misionero in 2016, it dedicated itself to upholding Griffin’s vision and values.
