Village Farms International Announces Its New Corporate Chef Darren Brown
HEATHROW, FL - Village Farms International announced that it is happy to welcome Chef Darren Brown as its new Executive Corporate Chef.
Chef Brown, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, brings over 25 years of experience to the Village Farms team, from a wide range of areas within the food industry.
“We are elated to have Chef [Brown] on board with Village Farms as a tried and true brand ambassador,” Helen L. Aquino, Director of Brand Management and Communication for Village Farms International, said in a press release. “His food expertise is perfectly suited in discerning our exclusive varietal flavor profiles.”
Formerly the Executive Chef for all the restaurants in the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia, Chef Brown became familiar with the Village Farms brand when he continually incorporated the company’s fresh produce extensively on the menus.
“Village Farms has so many exciting new varietals that are exclusive to them alone,” Chef Brown said in the release. “Their quality is only surpassed by their flavor and when incorporated into a dish really allow the food speak for itself.”
According to Aquino, Chef Brown will represent the company on a chef panel at the upcoming 3rd Annual Indoor Agriculture Conference taking place this week, March 31 to April 1, in Las Vega, Nevada. This is just the beginning of his new responsibilities as the company’s Executive Corporate Chef, which include being on hand at company events and tradeshows, as well as creating unique recipes with a focus on consumer health and wellness.
