As Winn-Dixie and Bi-Lo continue the process of merging, Peter Lynch will be stepping down as Chairman, President and CEO of Winn-Dixie Stores. The deal is scheduled to close in the next three to four months. In a statement earlier this month, Winn-Dixie announced that Randall Onstead, Chairman of BI-LO, will serve as CEO and President when the two companies combine. Mr. Lynch joined Winn-Dixie in 2004 with thirty years in the industry under his belt. Mr. Onstead is the former chairman and CEO of Texas-based Randalls Food Markets. Winn-Dixie stated, "Peter Lynch will transition to an advisory role for a period of time within the combined company upon completion of the transaction. Winn-Dixie and BI-LO will continue to operate as separate companies until the merger is finalized. The companies, as always, will remain focused on taking care of their valued guests and exceptional team members."
