Publix Reports Results for 2022 Produce for Kids Campaign; Dwaine Stevens and John Shuman Share

LAKELAND, FL - There are three words we at ANUK always love to hear: increased produce consumption. The Publix Produce for Kids campaign resulted in a total of 825,000 meals presented to 35 Feeding America® member food banks in the retailer’s market area. The fresh-forward cause marketing campaign, which wrapped on June 28, was the result of a combined commitment between the grocer and 13 produce partners.

Ayco Farms, CMI Orchards, Taylor Farms, Driscoll’s®, Fresh Express®, GT’s Living Foods, SUNSET®, Suja Juice™, Marie's®, Red n’ Tasty™, Shuman Farms RealSweet® Onions, Village Farms, and Wonderful® Pistachio were among the produce partners who helped bring this successful campaign to life. According to a press release, signage was positioned near produce partners in more than 1,200 Publix stores, featuring QR codes leading shoppers to a free bilingual downloadable eCookbook with recipe inspiration, and tips featuring campaign produce partners.

The in-store signage featured a lifestyle approach with a call to action to learn more on the campaign’s website, and the participating produce partners were featured in weekly ads beginning May 18. In addition, produce suppliers were highlighted in targeted social media content including photography and video throughout the months of May and June.

Healthy Family Project’s Amanda Keefer and her daughter hosted a Facebook Live cooking class, bringing produce-centric recipes to a viewership of 13,000.

The Produce for Kids campaign raises funds for local Feeding America member food banks. Since 2002, the Publix Produce for Kids program has raised over $3.6 million and donated over 6.5 million meals to Feeding America member food banks across its network.
