SunDate
SunDate was founded in 1977 by Sunar “Sunny” Chuchian, a long-time resident of California’s Coachella Valley, and a highly respected grower of dates and grapes. The company grew quickly, and in a few years had become one of the Country’s largest California date packers.
In the late 1990’s, Sunny’s vision for broader scale led to forming a partnership with very successful date growers, the Bianco family of Anthony Vineyards. Together, they increased sales and production to a scale of global significance.
After Sunny’s untimely death in 2001, his sons Howard and Gordon have followed his master plan to guide SunDate into the national and international leadership role that was the focus of his career. SunDate products are sold through the largest food retailers in the world, regional supermarket chains, independent grocers and specialty food stores. SunDate Industrial Food Ingredients are also used by the largest international and national food bakeries, snack and candy manufacturers.
