Costco reports net sales of $7 billion for the month of January. For the four week period ending January 29, 2012, the numbers revealed an increase of 11 percent from $6.30 billion when compared to the similar period last year. According to Thomson Reuters data, the increase was better than expected for the corporation, where analysts were anticipating same-store sales to increase 6.1 percent, including the impact of fuel prices.
For the first twenty-two-weeks of the reporting period ending January 29, 2012, Costco disclosed net sales numbers of $40.18 billion. This outcome communicates an increase of 11 percent from $36.08 billion when measured against the similar period last year. As for comparable same-store sales for January, excluding the impact of gasoline prices and foreign exchange sales numbers were up 8 percent.
