Baldor Specialty Foods and Advance Customs Brokers & Consulting Comment on Impending Blizzard in North East

UNITED STATES - As North Eastern consumers strap on their snow boots and prepare themselves for today’s blizzard conditions, the industry is preparing for travel delays and stoppage throughout the region. The ongoing storm in question is projected to create transportation issues across at least eight states as it spans along the coast and into the Midwest.

Coming to shore last night, the brunt of the storm is projected to last into tonight. According to AccuWeather, this storm may prove to be the most impactful of the season for many areas in the North East. Heavy snow is expected to clog road travel, causing area businesses to pre-emptively close. Airline delays and cancelations are expected as well.

Weather Disruption March 13th-15th

In that vein, Baldor Specialty Foods has announced that it will be providing limited deliveries in New York today, only to hospitals and nursing homes. The company stated in a release that it expects regular deliveries to resume tomorrow, though accommodations may be limited.

Benjamin Walker, Senior Director of Marketing & Development, Baldor Specialty Foods, Inc.“Baldor hasn’t closed due to weather or a national emergency in our 26 years, and tomorrow is no different. We have limited routes to customers we know need us and will be open. So it may be in limited form, but Baldor will be out there!” says Benjamin Walker, Senior Director of Marketing & Development.

The New England area is expected to experience the brunt of the blizzard conditions with wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph, up to 1 to 2 feet of snow in some areas, possible whiteouts, and power outages. AccuWeather continued to state that the drifting snow could even reach as far south as West Virginia.

Snow Arrival Times

“Snowfall rates of 1 to 4 inches per hour are possible at times during the height of the storm near and west of the Interstate 95 corridor, including Boston, New York City. Those high snowfall rates could also occur near or northwest of both Philadelphia and Washington D.C. for a time,” stated Advance Customs Brokers & Consulting LLC in a statement.

The company also stated that transport delays should be expected at Ports, with Packer Ave Terminal and all terminals at Port Elizabeth closed today.

As the North East battens down its hatches, AndNowUKnow will continue to report on any travel delays or subsequent issues.
