Anthony Vineyards is now harvesting its conventional and organic grapes out of Coachella Valley, California. According to Manager Rob Spinelli, the company is expecting normal volumes for conventional grapes, with a higher organic production this year due to increased acreage. He stated quote, “We have expanded our organic category to start in May and finish in November, to meet the demands of the consumer.”

Intelleflex is hoping to improve the quality and shelf life of perishable foods with its Temperature Monitoring Tag.
The XC3 Technology RFID tag can store up to 3,600 temperature samples in the sensor memory and can be configured for intervals from one minute to five days. Some benefits include real time data access, long range reads, the ability to read inside pallets and containers, and autonomous data collection with no line of sight restriction. Senior Director of Marketing, Kevin Payne stated, “By monitoring the temperature of perishable food at the pallet or package level, we can significantly reduce waste and improve profitability throughout the cold chain.”

Despite the rain, it was a strong turnout for the Stemilt Growers Grand Parade. The event was held May 7th in Wenatchee, Washington and marked the culmination of the annual two-week Washington State Apple Blossom Festival. Stemilt, and the company’s founding family, the Mathisons, sponsor the parade every year.
