Brooks Tropicals is now offering their Caribbean re papayas in a brand new box.  The new container has a shorter top and graphics, as well as better humidity control.  Marketing Director Mary Ostlund, stated that "designing a papaya box isn't easy.  Papaya's love humidity while cardboard doesn't."

The best and brightest of the produce industry are lined up for this year's largest expo. This years's PMA Fresh Summit kicks off on October 15th in Orlando,with buyer delegations from 14 countries attending, making it the largest gathering of produce professionals from around the world.  Speakers this year include A.G. Lafley, former chairman of Procter & Gamble and David Nour, CEO of the Nour Group.

Duda Farm Fresh has expanded its Texas citrus operation with the purchase of seven hundred new acres in Donna, Texas.  Since 2005, Duda has acquired almost a thousand acres of grapefruit and orange groves in the Lone Star state, in addition to sugar cane and sod property in the Rio Grande Valley.  Senior VP Thomas Duda stated that "Land in production agriculture is an important part of our commitment to operations, our financial strength and our future success."
