The Chilean Avocado Importers Association is starting its “Tailgater of the Week” Facebook contest. Continuing through December 23rd, participants can navigate to the Chilean Avocado Lover’s Club Facebook page and click on the “Tailgater of the Week” tab to post their tailgating photographs. Two winners will be chosen every week and will each receive a $50 dollar gift card depending on the number of votes that their photos receive. Marketing Director Maggie Bezart states, “Our ‘Tailgater of the Week’ Contest is the perfect opportunity to engage fans and spread that football fervor from the parking lots to the virtual world.”
California Giant Berry Farms is displaying a new look this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The company, who is a sponsor of the cause, will donate $10,000 dollars to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Throughout the month, strawberry clamshells will bare a pink ribbon on the front of the California Giant label, all in support of awareness and prevention. Cindy Jewell, Director of Marketing, states, “We want our customers and consumers to know that purchasing our berries makes a difference in their health and in the community.”
Warren Bailey, Steve Roosdahl, and Jason Fung are enjoying their new promotions and new roles with the Oppenhiemer Group. Bailey, who joined the team in 1995 as a Programmer Analyst has been promoted to the company’s new Chief Information Officer. Roosdahl, promoted to Director, Supply Chain Management, has been with the company since 1996, entering as a Senior Programmer Analyst. The recent new kid on the block, Jason Fung, has been promoted to Manager in the Marketing Department after starting with the company in 2008 as a Category Analyst. Congratulations to all three!
