CMI recently added Mike Nicholson to their Domestic Sales Team.
Nicholson brings extensive experience to CMI with his sales background in
fresh apples, pears, cherries and apricots. CMI Domestic Sales Manager
Steve Castleman, says quote "We look for Mike to drive programs forward
and to continually improve the service we provide to the retail community."

FirstFruits Marketing is announcing that Broetje Orchard’s Opal apples will
be available through May. Regarded as “Washington’s New Apple Gem” for its
bright color, the Opal is also known for its crunch and sweet flavor. The Opal is
a hybrid of the Golden Delicious and Topaz apple, a unique combination that
is quickly growing in popularity with consumers and media alike. Andy Tudor,
marketing director for FirstFruits Marketing, stated that “Retailers reported strong
consumer interest—and sales that helped lift the whole category. We are once
again proud to work with a quality-driven grower like Ralph Broetje to bring this
variety to more markets than ever before.”

Frieda's is working with EARTH University to give valuable professional
experience to students in sustainable agriculture. The fruit, shipped from
EARTH’s farms based in Costa Rica, has attracted business from natural food
retailers, including Whole Foods, for its incredible quality and sustainability.
EARTH’s organic bananas and pineapples are some of retailers’ most popular
items, and that number is sure to continue growing.
