This man’s legacy is something that will never go out of season. The US Apple Board is honoring the late Glady Bellamy, a founder and president of CMI, with its annual Apple Man of the Year Award. The board changed the award’s name from Apple Man or Woman of the Year to Apple Man for All Seasons as a tribute to Bellamy. CMI VP of Marketing, Bob Mast, stated, “Glady had passion, and uncompromised dedication to the fruit industry. He graced everyone he met with a cheerful and invigorating presence.”

For two major potato companies, this opportunity was as golden as their products. R.D. Offutt Company is joining forces with grower owned Farm Fresh Direct to form National Sales and Marketing Company, Farm Fresh Direct of America. The merger makes the company the largest grower-owned fresh potato shipper in the US. Jim Knutzon, (Ka-nut-son) President and CEO of Farm Fresh Direct, stated, “RDO has a history of being one of the best growers in the industry, and with their experience in agronomics, food safety and attention to quality, they’ve become a valuable addition.”
