Deardorff Family Farms has introduced its new Deardorff Organic Brand. Offering retailers and wholesalers a diverse array of USDA certified organic products, the new Deardorrf Organic brand includes celery, broccoli, cabbage, Romaine and more. After experiencing double-digit growth in organic sales over the last three years, President Tom Deardorff stated that "we are committed to sustainability and organics, and making sure that we apply that commitment from the farm all the way through to the end user."
Stemilt Growers is giving Valentine’s Day a healthy makeover this year with Pink Lady brand apples. Colorful display bins, POS signage, and a great supply of premium quality Pink Lady apples are all available to retailers in order to build a successful Valentine’s Day-themed promotion centered on this niche variety. Stemilt Marketing Director Roger Pepperl stated that "this year, the late fall weather was beyond favorable. The organic and conventional Pink Lady apples came off the tree in the right sizes and with phenomenal eating qualities."
Time is almost up for nominations to this year's United Fresh Retail Produce Manager Awards Program. United Fresh is proud to extend the entire industry's thank to outstanding supermarket PM's, and this year's 25 winners will receive free registration, airfare and lodging to United Fresh 2011 in New Orleans. Five Grand Prize winners will receive a thousand dollars each at the show. Nominations must be received by February 7th.
