Business or Pleasure? No need to choose one or another for this newest venture. Del Monte Fresh Produce is announcing the expansion of a second greenhouse project now underway in Buenos Aires, Costa Rica. The project features 17 hydroponic greenhouses, spanning 25 acres, as well as a packing house and other state-of-the-art facilities projected for completion in the first week of December 2011 with the first harvest set for February 2012.
Sun World will be making quite an impression at this years PMA Fresh Summit in Atlanta with the unveiling of its new interactive website www.Sun-World.com. The website is currently available for a sneak peak at its online address or through a QR code. The official online experience will be launched at the company’s booth #2635. Gordon Robertson, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing states, “We are bringing a full sensory experience to this year’s PMA. Our booth will be an interactive innovation station where attendees can visually experience Sun World online via touch screens, taste the latest in our variety development innovations and hear more about what’s coming from Sun World in 2012.”
Hollandia Produce is one of the twenty-eight finalists for the 5th annual PMA Impact Awards, Excellence in Packaging competition. Hollandia, commended for expanding on all opportunities to sell more fresh produce and floral products, is revealing their new Squircle innovation; the packaging for Live Gourmet, Living Butter Lettuce. The packaging has earned points in the categories of: marketing design and messaging, food safety, supply chain efficiencies; functionality, sustainability; and environmental impact and consumer convenience.
