Russell Wingo Jr. is joining FreshPoint, Incorporated as vice president of business development. Mr. Wingo responsibilities include strategic development of regional emerging chains, sales associate development and training, and multi-unit account management. CEO Brian Sturgeon stated, "Russ Wingo’s experience, talents, reputation and integrity make him a great addition to our corporate sales and development team.” Mr. Wingo has worked in the food service industry for 30 years.

Family Tree Farms will be well prepared for its harvest season, after finishing up its expanded blueberry packing facility. Last June, the company tore down walls of the existing facility to nearly triple the square footage. Owner David Jackson stated, “our top goal, and one we’re succeeding at, is developing a flavor profile that is above and beyond anything the consumer has ever tasted.“ The company is predicting a 30% increase in production from last year and will be offering a jumbo pack for the first time.
