Gourmet Garden's getting a new look in the fresh produce section of your local supermarket. Gourmet Garden herb blends are now made with organic herbs certified to USDA National Organic Program standards by The Organic Food Chain. The new look also includes a key comparison factor for shoppers. Each tube has the equivalent to fresh herbs in a red circle on the front.
Taylor Fresh Foods has purchased River Ranch Fresh Foods. River Ranch is one of the top five fresh produce processors in the U.S., with two cooling and processing centers in California. The Salinas Valley neighbors will combine to expand River Ranch's range of commodities, and Taylor Fresh Foods CEO Bruce Taylor stated that "We believe the consistency of ownership and the leadership that we can provide will help the firm prosper."
California Giant Berry Farms is changing its packaging to support the battle against breast cancer. Consumers will see a pink Cal Giant label on all strawberry pack size containers for October's Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Cal Giant's President, Bill Moncovich, praised the cooperation from various produce companies in the fight against breast cancer.
