One major grower is going nuts for sunshine… and using sunshine for nuts. Setton Pistachio Farms of Terra Bella, California is celebrating the grand opening of its new solar project, the largest commercial installation in the Central Valley. Cenergy Power designed and installed the project. The facility uses two different types of solar panels that will produce a total of 1.7 megawatts of power. The Canadian Produce Man of the Year in 2010 is in for another good one this year, if his new appointment is any indication. Adrian Abbott has just been appointed to Jem-D International’s new Director of Operations. He will be responsible for overseeing the day to day functions of the company’s distribution center in Ontario including Occupational Health and Safety initiatives, Food Safety programs, Audits and PTI milestones.
