One very lucky Ohio shopper is the winner of the Idaho Potato Commission and Fresh Gourmet’s “Win Free Groceries for a Year Sweepstakes.” Maija Liepins received $10,400 dollars in gift cards to use at a grocery store of her choice, and she picked Meijer. VP of Retail International at IPC, Seth Pemsler stated, “This was hands-down one of the most successful joint promotions we have ever participated in.” Shoppers were able to enter the contest online during a three month period.
Sun Rich Fresh Foods Incorporated is now offering its new Diced Mango and Pineapple products for foodservice and retail, which is an industry first. Canada Retail Sales Manager, Jeanette Weeks stated, “This new product makes preparing and serving tropical fruit-based salsas, chutneys, and desserts so easy and convenient.” The products are available in two formats for foodservice. For retail, the company packs the product in 12oz trays.
The United Fresh Foundation will donate salad bars to 33 New Orleans schools, thanks to the generosity of member companies and friends. The Foundation will commemorate the donation at the 107th annual convention in New Orleans, which takes place May 2nd through 4th. CEO Tom Stenzel said quote, “I’m pleased to say that we’ve topped our goal to raise funds for 25 salad bars and will be able to provide a salad bar to every New Orleans school that requested one.”
