Who has the hottest potato? It’s a tough question. So tough, that it took a contest at a prestigious university to find the answer. The Idaho Potato Commission recently hosted a competition in association with Harvard’s twenty foodservice providers to find the most innovative use of the American staple for gourmet cooking. The winner was chef Paula Gaughan for her Asiago soufflé crimson potatoes. Don Odiorne, Vice President Foodservice of the IPC, stated, “We were extremely impressed with the high level of creativity showcased by this passionate group of foodservice operators.”
Eating unhealthy is a thing of the past, thanks to Tanimura & Antle’s new intelligent Fall campaign. The company just launched their product promotion called “Salad Smarts”, which will use new high impact packaging and in-store graphic materials. T & A will be working in tandem with both the Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools campaign and the Freggie Children’s Programs. The aim is to broaden the children’s access to fresh fruits and vegetables, while providing them with nutritional education at the same time. CEO Rick Antle explained, “Our intention is to raise the visibility of Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools and Freggie™ Children’s Programs and educate our consumers on how they, too, can become involved in teaching our next generation how to make healthier food choices.”
