Mann Packing Company has created a YouTube-based video series that teaches consumers how to cook with its line of ready to use fresh-cut vegetables. Director of healthy culinary innovation, Gina Nucci, believes the videos are an important new tool for communicating with consumers. Customer interaction is expected to increase on the company's website, as consumers are encouraged to learn more about Mann's products and store locations.
Chiquita Brands International has donated more than 17,000 pounds of fresh bananas to the Houston Food Bank. Chiquita chairman and CEO Fernando Aguirre stated that, "Our employees are proud to share Chiquita's produce, especially during this season of giving." Throughout the last year, Chiquita has provided people in need with healthy, nutritious product totaling more than 4 and a half million dollars.
It pays to be a fan of Idaho Potatoes. IPC President Frank Muir saw Connie Makestad waving her potato-shaped hat bearing the IPC logo during a televised Boise State football game in September. During a radio interview, Muir announced that he'd give her $500 dollars if she came forward. Mrs. Makestad called in right away, and took the winnings to Las Vegas, where the BSU Broncos played in the MAACO Bowl.
