The annual PMA Foodservice Conference & Exposition in beautiful Monterey brought in nearly 1,700 attendees! 157 companies exhibited this year, but only 5 companies took home awards! Best of Show went to Peak of the Market, with second place going to Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers. Sensory Experience went to Grimmway Farms, Best New Product Launch was won by Tanimura & Antle, and Duda Farm Fresh Foods took home the title of the People’s Choice Award. The event was held on July 29th through 31th. It was my first time attending the event and I really thought it was a great show. I was able to meet a lot of colleagues in short amount of time. I look forward to returning next year.

Canada’s Better Living Television is launching a series of special segments called from Farm Gate to Dinner Plate: Fruits and Veggies - Mix it up . The show will be working in conjunction with the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CMPA) to explore different fruit and vegetable products and showcase their flavor and health benefits. CMPA’s Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications, Melanie Richer, stated, “National partnerships like these allow us to provide our members with an opportunity to reach a ripe audience and play a vital role in spreading an important message that will have a positive impact on nutrition habits, all while promoting consumption of the products that drive their business.”
