Prime Time Produce now has promotional volumes of red peppers and expects good supplies all Summer long! The company began harvesting Green peppers in April in Coachella Valley, and started red peppers in May. Prime Time will now transition to Bakersfield to harvest green peppers and red bell peppers will begin there in mid-July. By mid-August production will shift to the Oxnard area for the balance of the season. According to Director of Marketing, Mike Aiton, the weather this year has been cooperative, resulting in outstanding color and uninterrupted availability. He stated, “Colored peppers used to be speciality items but now customers buy them by the truck load because of the increasing consumer demand. The food service demand is really booming as well.”
She recently graduated, was hired, and now Dayna Brown is already getting promoted at West Pak Avocado as the company’s new Sales and Marketing Assistant. Doug Meyer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing said, “The future of our company, and the fresh produce industry, lies with the next generations of talented youth who have a passion for agribusiness, and Dayna is definitely one of those individuals.”
Fresh industry means fresh faces, and one rapidly expanding produce company has two. Duda Farm Fresh Foods is announcing that they will be promoting current employee John Alderman to Senior Account Manager. The company is also hiring Christina Monnin as Account Manager of Eastern Vegetables and Citrus. Mr. Alderman will be working with Florida growers to coordinate harvests, strengthen relations, share commodity market insights, and promote sales. Ms. Monnin will be responsible for servicing, strategizing, and developing opportunities for the company. Best of luck to both of them!
