Two blueberry farms in the southern states are speaking out about how much BEST Sorting’s PRIMUS systems have improved quality, processing speed, and profit.
Blueberry Hill Farms and Heagan Farms are both currently using the systems. Owner of Heagan Farms, Alex Cornelius, stated “A huge advantage of the PRIMUS technology is its ability to reliably sort for color and softness for fresh product, then use it to automatically determine acceptability for process fruit.”

The USDA’s Ag Marketing Service has consolidated the Poultry, Livestock and Seed, and Fruit and Vegetable program branches.
This new comprehensive Commodity Procurement division has launched a new website to complement the merger, providing its vendors with an easily accessible single source for USDA purchasing information. AMS Administrator Rayne Pegg stated that “Before the consolidation of commodity procurement operations, visitors to our website had to navigate three separate portals to get information on all of our purchase requirements. This new, simplified site gives customers the ability to respond more quickly to our purchase requests.”
