Ready Pac is now offering their new Salad Singles. The salads are designed for the Cost-Conscious shopper, and have less than 200 calories! Director of Marketing,Tristan Kieva said “We are very sensitive to the consumer need for value during these economic times, but it also challenges us to help deliver solutions that are not at the expense of quality or convenience.”
Last week, the New England Produce Council drew a larger than anticipated group of retail and produce professionals to Boston for their 11th annual Produce and Floral Expo. Laura Sullivan, Executive Director of the NEPC, stated that "this year's show had great attendance, from both produce suppliers and retailers as well. Over 750 people attended, and we had 230 exhibitors, including a few floral companies." Ms. Sullivan told ANUK that some of the retailers attending included Delhaize, Wegmans, Price Chopper, King Soopers, Hannaford and Stop & Shop. Highlights for attendees included an appearance by former MLB great Nomar Garciaparra at the keynote breakfast.
Maxco has a new location on the Central Coast, to better serve its current and new customers. The destination for Maxco’s 12,000 square foot facility was chosen to address the needs of its growers who have shifted their acreage and cooling to the north Salinas and Castroville regions. Coastal Region Manager Steve Jewell stated quote, “We are really excited about the new space and looking forward to the 2011 season here.”
