Stemilt Growers is expanding its Lil Snappers product line with new additions, organic availability, and a display-shipper. The two new conventional varieties are Braeburn and Fuji apples. The new organic apple availabilities are Gala, Fuji, Granny Smith, Piñata, and Pink Lady. Stemilt has a new display-shipper, revealing a shorter carton, pre-printed box and eye-catching graphics. Marketing Director Roger Pepperl, states, "The kid-friendly sizes and flavors and convenient grab-n-go package make it appealing to today’s busy parents."
Grimmway Farms has appointed Bob Borda Vice President of Marketing for the company. In his new role, Mr. Borda will be responsible for directing the company’s category management, social media, and marketing endeavors. The industry veteran will succeed Phil Gruszka, who resigned in October. President Jeff Meger states quote,“Bob brings years of experience and knowledge to his new role. He understands the industry, from his childhood on the farm, to his extensive 20 years of produce sales experience.”
Brooks Tropicals is welcoming passion fruit to its premier line of tropical fruit produce. The passion fruit is grown just south of Miami, Florida in the Redlands farming area and has vibrant shades of pale-pink, red and lavender. The fruit carries a 14 day shelf life, a rich, sweet and tangy flavor with year-round supply, although peak volumes are in February, June and September.
