US Foods Acquires Italian Specialty Distributor Jeraci Foods
ROSEMONT, IL - US Foods continues its track for growth, this time with the acquisition of New York-based Italian specialty distributor Jeraci Foods.
“As a family owned business Jeraci Foods has built a strong reputation for great customer service and high quality food,” said Chuck Gannon, area President for US Foods, according to a press release. “At US Foods, we pride ourselves on those same characteristics and look forward to bringing an even more robust product offering to Jeraci customers.”
Jeraci Foods has been apart of the New York area food scene and family-owned since 1972. It offers a complete line of authentic Italian, as well as other imported and domestic food products to consumers throughout the area, including:
- Green Beans
- Broccoli
- Fries
- Carrots
- Fruits
- Juices
Recently, US Foods unveiled its Fall Scoop line of 25 items, just weeks after launching its new Serve Good foodservice line.
Now the company stated that Jeraci will bolster its offerings further by enhancing its penetration in the Italian independent restaurant and pizzeria segment, touting more than $26 million in sales annually.
Though the details of the acquisition were not disclosed, the deal is expected to close October 7. The Jeraci Foods location is expected to remain open throughout the year to ensure a smooth transition, before business shifts to US Foods’ Perth Amboy, New Jersey location.
