The Vidalia Onions Committee is welcoming the Langston Libby Group to its marketing team. Coming on the heels of the committee's well-received Shrek campaign in 2010, executive director Wendy Brannen began the search for a new agency partner. Steve Langston and Melissa Libby specialize in food-related public relations, and the partnership was finalized by the VOC on December 14th.
The Allen Lund Company is teaming up with produce growers for a good cause this holiday season. The company will work with growers from the Central Valley and Arizona to donate fresh produce to Navidad en el Barrio. This organization provides food baskets to over 20,000 Southern California families living in poverty. Assistant manager Tracey Lewin stated that "We are grateful to our growers, who have stepped up in what has been a very challenging year for everyone.” Donations to Navidad en el Barrio will include celery, pears, salad mix and navel oranges.
Colorful Harvest showed its generous side on December 4th at the Florida Strawberry Grower’s Association’s “Strawberry Jam” awards. The company donated a custom made strawberry themed electric guitar, which was auctioned off at the end of the awards banquet. The live auction contributed more than $3,200 to the Rodney Hutto Memorial Scholarship fund for deserving college students.
