Giumarra Agricom at PMA Foodservice 2011

Chris Henry, Director of Sales and Marketing at Giumarra Agricom, joined the AndNowUKnow crew at last month's PMA Foodservice Expo in Monterey, CA. Mr. Henry discussed his company's recent success with their avocado program and the positive effects they've seen in working with various foodservice customers. More and more foodservice operations have added avocados to their menus, and both demand and prices are high. Products have been coming in through Chile, Mexico, California and Peru.

Giumarra's asparagus program for foodservice is moving along as well. With dedicated grower partners located in Mexico, Mr. Henry expects that the supply gap which can occur during fall foodservice promotions should be substantially lesser than years prior.
