Nash Produce Adds Tami Long as Director of Marketing and Business Development

NASHVILLE, NC – There’s a new era of growth on the horizon for Nash Produce, with the company’s marketing endeavors at the center of its focus. To lead its marketing operations as the company moves forward, Tami Long has joined the team as its new Director of Marketing and Business Development.

Tami joined the company on August 14 of this year, and as she took a moment to sit down and tell me, her first goal is no small feat; rebranding the company.

Tami Long, Director of Marketing and Business Development, Nash Produce“Rebranding Nash Produce will be my first project, and help infatuate consumers more with sweet potatoes,” Tami says. “I hope to have it running by the first of the year.”

Tami brings an extensive history in publication and connecting with the public to her role at Nash Produce. Prior to her industry appointment, she worked for 20 years with Emmis Communications as its Newsstand Director. Distributing regional magazine lines to stores throughout the U.S. gave Tami instrumental skills in working with wholesalers, monitoring projects, reviewing sales data, and translating that information to the company’s publishers and corporate offices.

What brought Tami to our own beloved industry, was a love of sweet potatoes and need for change.

Sweet potatoes

“The idea of marketing sweet potatoes was exciting. I was in the publishing business for over 30 years, and it was time for something new,” Tami divulges. “I want to be part of something that has meaning, and providing people with healthy alternatives is huge.”

Tami’s love for the memorable veg was instilled as a teenager thanks to a friend’s grandmother’s sweet potato pie–a moment that left a lasting impression, leading Tami to her current role. One of Tami’s goals is to find new ways to incorporate sweet potatoes into people’s lives. She says that she has already started reaching out to companies to determine which new products can be created using the power of sweet potatoes.

“I’d like to say that my super power is solving problems. There is always a ‘plan B.’” Tami finishes. “I’m looking forward to working with everyone in the industry while promoting the importance of fresh and local produce. I’m thrilled to be looking for new ways to market sweet potatoes!”

Welcome to Nash Produce and the industry, Tami! We can’t wait to see where you head next.
