Behind the Greens: Live Oak Farms' Welcomes Expanded Pepper Program
LE GRAND, CA - In 1929, the first Live Oak Farms tomatoes were packed under a live oak tree in Merced County, California.
As the company approaches its 90th anniversary, Live Oak Farms has embarked on an expansion of its pepper program that sets a new course for a company that’s made up generations of growers who are committed to excellence.
Green, red, and yellow bell peppers are grown and harvested from June to November. Multiple growing regions across Central California assure a steady supply all season long.
New for 2018 are jalapeño peppers that are long, smooth, and provide just the right amount of heat. But, what’s so very important to Live Oak is quality.
Live Oak quality begins in the field…much the same land where Live Oak Farms first grew nine decades ago. But that attention to quality doesn’t stop in the field.
Live Oak Farms is redefining field grown pepper quality. Following years of research, Live Oak’s new state-of-the-art pepper line has opened. Using world class Aweta 3-D Advanced Vision optics for defect sorting and a second optical sorter for size and color. Blocky bell peppers are sized by width and length, always washed, and always packed to a higher-quality standard.
With flexible automated packing solutions to meet the needs of the most demanding customer, Live Oak’s pepper program is poised for growth, with an emphasis on excellence in pepper quality in service to its customer base throughout North America.
