FT MYERS, FL - Sakata Seed America has its sights set on expansion, and it’s beginning with its unique team of skillful produce experts. The seed maven recently revealed it has tapped industry veteran Jeremy Sisson as Senior Tomato Breeder, with an emphasis on the saladette tomato segment.

Sisson brings over 15 years of valuable experience in tomato breeding, and specializes in the saladette category, according to a company release. In his new role, he is based out of the Sakata For Myers Research Station, perfect for fostering collaboration with the company’s breeding, biotechnology, and pathology resources.

In addition to his expertise from working in the industry, Sisson received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from West Virginia State University, where he also received a Master of Science in Biotechnology.
