Pace International Adds Organically Certified Biorational Fungicide for Post-Harvest Utilization; Jorge Gotuzzo Discusses

Most recently, the industry innovator announced that BioSpectra® 100 SC is now listed by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for organic use in the United States.

The biorational fungicide received its OMRI Listed® seal after completing the rigorous certification process and requirements set forth for organic crop production use. According to a press release, the natamycin-based fungicide is the result of the fermentation process of naturally occurring soil microorganisms and provides a new mode of action, inhibiting pathogen growth.

BioSpectra is the latest biorational fungicide to be organically certified for post-harvest applications and offers a broad-spectrum decay control against several major fungal post-harvest diseases across a variety of crops. As noted by Pace International, BioSpectra has shown better disease control compared to other organic alternatives.

The solution has also received an exemption from tolerance (MRL) for current agricultural applications in the U.S.

The announcement of this prestigious certification comes just six years after the product’s introduction, when it was approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) for post-harvest applications.
