WASHINGTON, DC - The United Fresh Convention & Expo in Chicago is looking to be jam-packed with a few of our industry’s most renowned celebs. This will include Michael Stebner, Director of Culinary at Los Angeles-based sweetgreen, who will be in the expo’s attendance on June 11. Not only will he be in attendance, he will also give attendees a peek inside his (master)mind with a presentation on his culinary perspectives.

During the Main Stage education session, Produce at the Center of the Plate: A Chef’s Perspective, Stebner, an award-winning chef and visionary of culinary excellence, will touch on sweetgreen’s commitment to transparency, upping the accessibility of healthy food, and supporting small and mid-size sustainable growers by introducing attendees to creative ways of incorporating more produce into menus and meals for all dining occasions.

Founded in 2006, sweetgreen now boasts 94 locations across seven U.S. markets. According to a press release, the quick-eats restaurant believes that the choices we make about what we eat, where it comes from, and how it is prepared have a direct and powerful impact on the health of individuals, communities, and the environment.

Stebner himself boasts many accolades, a few of which include two invitations to the James Beard House in New York, the title of co-author of the New York Times bestselling True Food Cookbook, and a prior stint with Dr. Andrew Weil as the Brand Chef of True Food Kitchen. At sweetgreen, he is responsible for managing the menu and concept innovations.
