NEWPORT BEACH, CA - Industry veteran Kevin Leap has been named as GreenFruit Avocados new Director of Sales and Marketing.

Bringing 27 years of experience in produce spanning a variety of sales and marketing roles, Leap’s resume includes well-known industry names like West Pak Avocado, Dulcinea, and Ready Pac Foods.

Most recently, Leap worked for Frieda’s Specialty Produce as its Director of Business Development. In that role, he continued to oversee the company’s robust national retail program, according to a press release.

In his new role, GreenFruit said that Leap will be responsible for developing new marketing programs, as well as coaching an expanding sales team to continue to deliver on an expectation of quality and service for every customer.

The company noted that the new appointment comes at a time when the avocado category is experiencing unprecedented consumer demand. GreenFruit Avocados continues to exercise the same growth as a vertically integrated grower-shipper, noting that avocado sales continue to outpace other produce categories by 3:1, according to the Hass Avocado Board’s most recent U.S. retail avocado sales figures.
