The Produce Marketing Association Taps Dan Stark as Chief Content Officer
NEWARK, DE - The Produce Marketing Association (PMA) is taking steps to amplify and enhance the value of its educational platform and content creation programs. This week, PMA announced the creation of a new Chief Content Officer role—now occupied by Dan Stark.
“The evolution of digital channels has given us unlimited tools to share and consume information,” Stark said, in a press release. “It is my goal to help PMA serve our members as a trusted voice for and on behalf of our industry. I look forward to working with the team at PMA and with our members.”
Stark first joined PMA this January. In his new role, he will be responsible for providing global strategic leadership to the organization’s marketing, communications, and education efforts and for enhancing the content and communications for and on behalf of our industry members. In his new role, Stark will report directly to PMA CEO Cathy Burns.
“We are thrilled to have Dan join our team,” Burns said. “His experience in digital transformation and content delivery will further enhance the value PMA provides to our members and the industry year-round…He will ensure that the stories of the produce and floral industries are at the forefront of the conversations the world is having around food, floral, and culture.”
According to the association’s press release, Stark’s hiring comes at a time where PMA is seeking to bring the industry to the world at large.
Stark comes to PMA with diverse experience across the nonprofit sector, with a focus on technology, innovation, and governance. In the past, Stark has led product strategy for a software development company, providing an association management system, and he has served as principal at a consulting firm promoting operational excellence. Stark also reportedly brings keen association experience as former executive director of the American Public Gardens Association.
Congratulations to Dan on the new role—from all of us at AndNowUKnow. We wish you, the PMA, and the industry you both represent all the best!
