IRWINDALE, CA - In a recent blog post, Ready Pac Foods CEO Tony Sarsam extended an invitation to President Donald Trump to meet the team and experience first-hand why medium-sized businesses should not be overlooked.

"I try to stay out of the political fray as much as possible. However, jumping in now, during the formation of President Trump’s administration, seems like a reasonable exception," Sarsam wrote. To read the full post, titled Don’t Overlook the Sweet Spot: Medium-Sized Businesses, click here.

In the interest of showcasing the impact the medium-sized business can have, Sarsam wrote a detailed letter to POTUS. Read what the long-time food industry leader and Ready Pac Foods executive had to say below.

Dear Mr. President,

Congratulations on a terrific first 100 days!

As you look forward to the next phase of your administration’s mission to make America great again, I believe you need to form an advisory committee composed of leaders from one of the most crucial parts of the U.S. economy–medium-sized businesses with revenues between $50 million and $1 billion.

I deeply admire and respect the fact that you know what you want to do, and you get things done. Appointing Jared Kushner to run The White House Office of American Innovation is just one example of many that illustrate your zeal in overhauling the status quo. In many ways, that is similar to how the head of a medium-sized business must act every day.

I am the CEO of one such company, Ready Pac Foods Inc. We manufacture convenience fresh meal solutions, pre-packaged salads and fresh-cut produce sold at supermarkets and other retailers around the country. When you order a salad with your Domino's pizza, in fact, those are our salads! I'm also proud to say 100% of our products are made right here in the U.S.A. Ready Pac Foods will add nearly 800 jobs this year in three states.

There are terrific advantages associated with drawing input from medium-sized companies. While the CEO of a big company doesn’t always have time to look at every line item of a budget or an agenda, the head of a medium-sized business is hands-on enough to know what most of his or her people are thinking and doing and feeling. We are closer to the people, and don’t have to worry so much about the public and private pressures that larger company CEOs feel on many fronts.

I would like to suggest that we create a President’s coalition of medium-sized businesses. I am envisioning that this group would include companies across all main sectors of the economy, meet regularly to discuss key concerns and opportunities that medium-sized businesses face every day. We also, where appropriate, would weigh in on legislation and hopefully get the opportunity to communicate regularly with you and your economic team.

I invite you to come visit one of our facilities and meet with me and my executive team, where we could discuss how to form such a coalition and decide which companies to include. Ready Pac Foods would of course love a seat at the table.

I think you’ll agree that while large companies get the headlines, medium-sized companies are often the ones with a direct impact on more people. I am confident I am speaking for most of us when I say we would cherish the opportunity to work with you and your administration to help strengthen this great country and its economy.

Sincerely,

Tony Sarsam
