Associated Wholesale Grocers Implements RangeMe Product Discovery Platform
KANSAS CITY, KS - Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG) is taking another step in bridging the gap between the retailer and supplier with its newest tech adoption. The co-op food wholesaler announced that it will be partnering with RangeMe, an award-winning online platform that seeks to streamline new product discovery between product suppliers and retailers.
"The technology and vendor interfacing that RangeMe provides will benefit our Members and their customers," states Anna Mancini, AWG's Vice President, VMC Division. "By implementing the RangeMe platform, our category team can quickly locate and identify products that our members want, like organic items, baby, beauty products, or locally relevant items or brands. It saves us time and money, which is passed on to our members."
Based in San Francisco, RangeMe’s goal is to give buyers an efficient way to discover innovative new products, while also managing the inbound product submission process. And as for suppliers, RangeMe allows for increased control over the marketing of their products while offering greater access to retail buyers. According to a press release, RangeMe has grown to nearly 65,000 suppliers and over 210,000 active products across all categories in just the past year.
"Consumers are seeking and demanding an ever-expanding selection of Specialty, Organic, Local and diverse and innovative array of products," added Greg Oldright, AWG's Executive Director, VMC Division. "RangeMe simplifies sourcing and allows for our Buying Teams to have access to a wide range of products at their fingertips."
In total, AWG serves over 3,800 locations in 35 states and from 11 full-line wholesale Divisions.
