CPMA Awards Produce Industry Leaders at Annual Trade Show

The Canadian Produce Marketing Association has recently concluded its 88th Annual Convention and Trade Show which took place in Toronto, Ontario. As part of their 88th Annual Convention and Trade Show, CPMA bestowed two distinct sets of awards: Trade Show Awards and Convention Awards.

CPMA Trade Show Awards in Toronto this year recognized the efforts of trade show exhibitors and product innovation.


Images 042313Three Best Booth Awards were presented to exhibitors for their efforts in creating outstanding displays and providing high-quality experience to Trade Show attendees. The first place award went to EarthFresh, with second place honoring Mastronardi Produce Ltd. and Procyk Farms Ltd sweeping in to snag the third. Booths were assessed on overall booth presentation, company identity, product presentation, design elements, booth activity, as well as interpersonal skills & professionalism.



Images 042313This years Best New Product Award was given to Pom Wonderful for its new Hula, Mango and Coconut juices. The new line met the Best New Product criteria of originality & product appearance and overall convenience & benefits for consumers.


Images 042313Convention awards were given to industry leaders for their ongoing commitment to the produce industry in Canada and included CPMA’s 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award which was presented to Adrian Huisman by Michael Ecker of Vineland Growers Co-Operative. Huisman has recently retired after 48 years in the produce industry. He has long been the face of the Tender Fruit Industry in Ontario.


Images 042313Also included in Convention awards was the 2013 Mary Fitzgerald Award, presented to Stephanie Lariviere and presented by Chiquita. The award honors a member of the produce industry who is under 40 years old and demonstrates the same passion and dedication Mary demonstrated during her career. Stephanie Lariviere, is the Sales and Regulatory Manager with Erie James Ltd and was honored on behalf of Chiquita by Les Mallard.
