Sprouts is no stranger to charity, and its Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation will be laying the groundwork for enriching the new store’s community. The retailer will donate $5,000 to the YMCA of Reston and Food for Neighbors, both of which are organizations providing healthy food to local youth suffering from hunger.

The grocer also donated 27 million pounds of leftover food in 2018. The new Virginia store will continue this commitment to community service, donating all unsold edible groceries to the Capital Area Food Bank, staying in line with its “zero waste” initiative.
