Walmart Expands Partnership with Ghost Kitchens With Plans to Open More Locations; Darryl Spinks and George Kottas Comment



TORONTO, CANADA - Last week, Walmart took to the newswires to announce it would be adding more than 20,000 new associates in a play to up its supply chain success. Now, the big-box retailer has announced it will be expanding its relationship with Ghost Kitchen Brands to open its first location in the U.S. in Rochester, New York.

The new endeavor will make one-stop meal pickup and delivery available to Walmart shoppers from up to 25 popular brands plus several new additions to the Ghost Kitchens’ roster. According to a press release, these new companies include Costa Coffee, Kraft Mac & Cheese, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, and Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken.

Building on Ghost Kitchens’ relationship with Walmart Canada, this announcement will be followed by the company opening additional locations in U.S. Walmart stores over the coming months and into the next year. Expected expansions include Texas, California, Illinois, and Georgia, among others.
