Aldi Extends Deliveroo Trial

Aldi Extends Deliveroo Trial

UNITED KINGDOM - Recently, Aldi UK introduced home delivery for the first time with its newest Deliveroo partnership. It’s safe to say that proved to be a smashing success considering the discount chain is already planning on expanding its delivery pilot. Following a successful start in eight stores across the Midlands, Aldi has decided to extend the trial to Camden, providing deliveries to the capital for the first time.

Richard Thornton, Communications Director, Aldi“In the three weeks since we launched our partnership with Deliveroo, feedback from customers has been very positive,” said Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi. “Extending that partnership to around 100,000 people living near our Camden store will make it even easier for them to access great-quality, affordable food at Aldi’s unbeatable prices.”

According to a press release, customers will be able to order from around 200 essential Aldi products, which will be picked and packed by Aldi colleagues for delivery by Deliveroo’s network of riders. They will then be delivered to addresses within around two miles of Aldi Local in Camden—including West Hampstead, Belsize Park, and Mayfair—in as little as 30 minutes.

This expanded partnership is especially helpful for those who are isolating at home. If successful, the Deliveroo service could be launched to more stores across the U.K. before the end of the year.

As on-demand delivery continues to rise in the grocery sector, AndNowUKnow will continue to report on the latest.
