“Cauliflower is starting to ride the wave back up to higher pricing. More demand across the country from our customers is a tell-tale sign that consumers are wanting more cauliflower. Quality from our Thermal, California, production is excellent. Bright white heads and tight curds. Weather in the Coachella Valley the past couple weeks has been favorable and bringing warmer days, which the cauliflower likes,” stated Jay Angulo, Wet Veg Manager of Baloian Farms.

Additional insights from The Source detail that cauliflower supplies are getting tight as we approach the end of the Yuma, Arizona, season, although Santa Maria, California, and Mexico supplies are steady.

Similarly, The Source noted that broccoli supplies have been relatively limited in Yuma, Arizona, as we approach transition. Reports from Santa Maria, California, and Mexico detail a steady supply.

“The coming weeks will be a bit unstable for broccoli and cauliflower,” added Crystal Chavez, Marketing Coordinator for Gold Coast Packing. “As we wrap up in the desert, our Santa Maria Valley crop is not where it typically is for this time of year. California has been hit with several storms, leaving our grounds saturated, causing our planting scheduled to be pushed back. Because of the planting delay, volume and availability for broccoli and cauliflower will vary over the next few weeks.”
