Giumarra Companies to Market Wildwood Packing's California Stone Fruit and Citrus
LOS ANGELES, CA - Giumarra has entered into an exclusive sales and marketing agreement with Kingsburg, California-based Wildwood Packing and Cooling and its growers.
Beginning in the fall of 2015 and coinciding with the start of Wildwood’s citrus offering, Giumarra will market Wildwood’s volume of California stone fruit and citrus. Afterwards, in spring 2016, Wildwood’s volume of California stone fruit will round out the program, according to a press release.
The joint venture will bolster Giumarra’s Nature’s Partner DulceVida™ proprietary line of stone fruit by considerably increasing the volume in the market.
Jeannine Martin, Director of Sales for Giumarra Reedley, said that Wildwood’s diversity of commodities perfectly fits the company’s vision and strategic plan of growth.
“The Giumarra and Wildwood families both represent longstanding family roots in the produce industry, and our mutual desire to continue that tradition led to this agreement,” said Martin. “Citrus will be an exciting new category of growth for Giumarra Reedley and will complement the Giumarra Companies’ current citrus line.”
Wildwood’s year-round citrus program offers a full line of traditional navels, valencias, lemons, and grapefruit, as well as several EZ Peel varieties. The combined volume of both companies will strengthen the supply of stone fruit in the market, including peaches, nectarines, white peaches, white nectarines, donut peaches, donut nectarines, plums, pluots, and apricots.
