Revenue Officers Seize Over $6.1 Million Worth of Drugs in Fruit Shipment



IRELAND - Another innocent shipment of fresh fruit was caught up in crime over the weekend as officials at the Rosslare Europort in Ireland discovered cannabis amongst a load of melons and oranges.

According to Today FM, 5.5 million euros (upward of $6.19 million USD) worth of the drug was concealed within the fruit containers. The shipment reportedly arrived from Spain and was selected for a random check.

The trailer arrived unaccompanied when officials decided to X-Ray the contents, uncovering 277 kilos (around 610.68 pounds) of cannabis.
