“Last week was opening week for our growers in Watsonville, California, and we have been seeing excellent quality of the raspberry crop so far,” Markus tells me. “We have had a very cool spring this year, which raspberries love. This season started about a week later than normal, but we are foreseeing no issues for the harvest.”

“Our year-round raspberry program in Mexico continues to expand, as does our raspberry acreage in California,” says Markus. “As we’re heading into the warmer months, consumers will be looking to stock up on fresh berries for that in-season taste. Both market and demand look to be strong for raspberries, and we are expecting to meet these needs with a strong volume of high-quality fruits.”
