Kroger Reports 30.5 Billion Dollar Sales Bump in Second Quarter



CINCINNATI, OH - Weathering the storm that has been the COVID-19 pandemic, certain retailers have maintained a strong standing amongst their competitors. For Kroger, it reported a whopping $30.5 billion in sales in its second quarter—a jump from $28.2 billion from the same period last year.

Highlights from the second quarter include:

  • Total company sales were $30.5 billion in the second quarter
  • Identical Sales without fuel grew 14.6 percent
  • Digital sales grew 127 percent
  • EPS of $1.03; Adjusted EPS of $0.73, up 66 percent compared to prior year
  • Operating Profit of $820 million; Adjusted FIFO Operating Profit of $894 million, up 43 percent compared to prior year
  • Strong alternative profit business growth
  • Continued investments to support and safeguard associates, customers, and communities
