Sprouts Farmers Market Opens New Stores in California, Arizona, and New Jersey

PHOENIX, AZ - Sprouts Farmers Market continues to rack up successes. After unveiling its aggressive expansion plan in early April of this year, the retailer is detailing plans of several new store openings in Mesa, Arizona; San Jose, California; and Marlton, New Jersey. As the first Sprouts in New Jersey, the retailer began hiring 150 new employees in mid-April of this year.

All three stores are set to open on Wednesday, June 5, and the locations are listed as follows:

  • 1240 South Signal Butte Road, Mesa, AZ
  • 1771 East Capital Expressway, San Jose, CA
  • 227 Route 73 South, Marlton, NJ

The first 200 shoppers at each store opening will receive 20 percent off their initial total purchase. A press release noted that muffin and coffee samples will be served to everyone in line before the doors open, and every customer on grand opening day will receive one free reusable bag with purchase. (Don’t mind the redhead standing in line, fellow Californian Trader Joe’s lovers.)

Weekend shoppers are invited to explore new natural and organic products during Taste of Sprouts on Saturday, June 8, when guests will have a chance to sample both favorite and trending items, including a selection of exclusive Sprouts Brand products.

As if all of this wasn't already exciting enough, these Sprouts stores will further the retailer's “zero waste” mission. Each new store will donate unsold and edible groceries to food banks in those cities. In 2018, the press release detailed that Sprouts stores and distribution centers donated 27 million pounds of product, equivalent to 23 million meals. Food that is not fit for donation is provided to local cattle farms and composting facilities.
