SALINAS, CA – Grower and shipper of premium fresh produce Tanimura & Antle has announced the appointment of Chris Glynn to the position of Director of Organics, looking to bolster the leadership of its growing organics team as the company moves to launch a full line of organic products.

Chris Glynn, Director of Organics, Tanimura & AntleFrom 2005 until he joined Tanimura & Antle, Glynn was at Earthbound Farm, where he served most recently as Vice President of Ag Supply and played a pivotal role in the development and coordination of its network of organic growers.

The company is currently conducting trials in preparation for a full launch of organic offerings later this year.

According to the company’s press release, organic is consistent with Tanimura & Antles broader, long-term commitment to sustainability, including:

  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in both organic and non-organic crops
  • Minimum tillage to avoid soil erosion
  • Cover cropping and crop rotation
  • Drip irrigation resulting in 19% decrease in water usage
  • Protection of adjacent ecosystems

Tanimura & Antle has already joined the Organic Trade Association, and the company’s organic program is certified organic by CCOF, one of the country's leading organic certifiers.
